Birth can be unpredictable. Your support shouldn’t be.
Thoughtful, experienced birth and postpartum care for women who want to feel prepared, deeply supported, and well cared for—whatever their birth brings.
Birth + Postpartum Doula · Calgary, Alberta
You are preparing for so much more than birth.
You’re preparing to meet your baby, recover from birth, navigate feeding, and find your footing in a new season of motherhood.
You deserve care that considers all of it.
From pregnancy through six weeks postpartum, I offer one continuous relationship: time to prepare together, steady support through birth, and generous care for you as you recover and begin life with your baby.
Pregnancy → Birth → Postpartum
Prepare for what you can. Feel supported through what you can’t.
Birth doesn’t always unfold the way we imagine. After seven years supporting families—and four very different births of my own—I know that a change in plans does not have to take away from a positive birth experience.
We’ll prepare thoughtfully for the birth you hope for while making space for the unexpected.
During birth, I’ll bring a calm, experienced presence, practical support, and clear information when you need it—without judgment and without an agenda for how your birth should look.
The goal isn’t a perfect birth. It’s for you to feel informed, supported, and confident in the birth that is yours.
Experienced support. Generous care. No judgment.
I’m Jayne, a certified Birth, Postpartum, and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Doula and mother of four.
For seven years, I’ve supported women and families through pregnancy, birth, feeding, recovery, and the tender early weeks of parenthood.
My training includes birth and postpartum care, pregnancy and infant loss, trauma-informed support for survivors, supporting diverse families, and first aid.
But knowledge is only part of good care.
I believe you should feel comfortable asking questions, changing your mind, needing more support, or simply needing someone beside you.

Philosophy no. 1
You shouldn’t have to ration your support.
Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum don’t fit neatly into scheduled appointments.
Questions come up. Plans change. Feeding can be harder than expected. Some days you need very little; other days you need someone to lean on.
I never want you wondering whether you’re taking up too much of my time.
That’s why I offer one complete experience rather than dividing your care into hours and add-ons.
When you need support, I want you to feel comfortable asking for it.
Because this season asks an enormous amount of mothers. The care surrounding them should be generous enough to meet it.

Philosophy no. 2
Nourishing the mother matters most.
The person who has just given birth deserves to be cared for, too.
Those early weeks ask so much of you: healing, feeding, interrupted sleep, learning your baby, and giving an extraordinary amount of yourself to someone who needs you completely.
I don’t believe mothers are meant to begin that work already depleted.
Food has always been one of the ways I care for people. I learned to cook alongside the women in my family, spent three years cooking professionally, and have spent many more years developing recipes for the families I love and support.
Postpartum, I bring that care to you through warm, nourishing food made specifically with recovery in mind.
Because when a mother is well fed, well supported, and given space to rest, she has more of herself available for her baby, her family, and herself.
You deserve to be nourished while you nourish your baby.
“Jayne has an extraordinary ability to bring calm to the chaos of pregnancy and birth. She will always be my number-one speed dial for anything pregnancy or birth related.”
— Emily, April 2022 and 2024
Care for the birth you’re actually having.
Unmedicated or epidural. Spontaneous or induced. Straightforward or complicated. Exactly as you imagined or nothing like you expected.
I’m not there to decide what a good birth looks like for you.
I’m there to help you prepare, understand your options, feel confident in your decisions, and remain steady when things change.
Seven years of doula work have taught me that exceptional support isn’t about controlling the outcome.
It’s about making sure you feel cared for through it.
“Jayne was such a steady source of support for my wife and for both of us. Her food also kept us going through the long, exhausting first few weeks.
If we ever have more children, I’d want her there with us again without hesitation.”
